Meet Sha, Bernie and Laurie. We are a woman and haitian-owned business. We are small but a mighty team. We are creative and passionate and ambitious about Ottawa's social and entertainment scene.
Born and raised in the capital, Sha is an entrepreneur, event curator and all-around creative. After years of noticing the gap for entertainment tailored to Black Ottawans, she decide to launch Hors Pair Social - a events company that would later become a staple in Ottawa’s social and entertainment scene.
Outside of HPS, she helps other companies and entrepreneurs organize events and launch initiatves and reach their target audience with effective marketing.
She is passionate, ambituous and the definition of a go-getter. She hopes to encourage women and Black people to be daring in their career journeys.

Meet Bernie
As someone that enjoys art and creates it as well, Bernie enjoys being part of a team that highlights its impact and importance within our community, here in Ottawa. Growing up in Ottawa, scarcity within the art and creative space for black people and those of colour was dominant. By advocating for this issue, Bernie through Hors Pairs intends to highlight this need by way of creating meaningful local, cultural and visual spaces. She believes in making an impact by creating these experiences for her generation and those of the past and future.
Meet Laurie
Laurie Lormil joined Hors Pair Social in 2022, as an operational support assisting in the planning and coordination of Hors Pair Social events. With an educational background in conflict studies & project management, Laurie enjoys helping individuals grow and develop their business while giving back to her community.
